There are so many wonderful things going on in the art department this year.
Tate Kids is a wonderful art site for kids run by the Tate Gallery in England. Last week they posted a link to the our Art Talk page, because the were so impressed with a story that Wanling in grade 5, wrote about the new interactive game on the Tate Kids Site. The game is based on the Little Dancer, the famous sculpture by Edgar Degas.
Art Exchange – The Japanese School
We are getting ready to send 12 pieces of work to share with our friends at the Japanese School for their annual art exchange. The exhibition runs from 26th October to 6th November at the Japanese School Changi campus and 7th November to 11th December at their Clementi campus. Be sure to check out the work that has been selected for the exhibition.
Students whose work is selected will receive a certificate to mark their participation.
Inspired by Our Artists of the Month
This quarter we have been inspired by Jimmy Pike, and Leonardo da Vinci. We are currently having lots of fun exploring the work of Frank Stella. Be sure to check the Quarter 1 Photo Gallery to see what each grade level has been up to.
Next week, I will publish the Artyfacts Newsletter for Quarter 2. In the meantime a few student’s from Ms Farris’ grade two class wanted to share a little about Leonardo da Vinci and what they will remember from their self-portrait project.
