Inspired by Keith Haring, Created by Grade Four

This week my grade four students were very excited to see their Pop Art People Sculptures. After their final firing in the kiln the kids were amazed at how much the colors had changed. The dull flat colors of the glaze had become shiny and bold.  This project was all about clay joinery. It was a good chance for these young artists to practice scoring, slipping and blending. Some students found out the hard way that if they didn’t follow those steps that their work might not stay together. All and all  both the kids and I were pretty happy with the way they turned out.
